The Best Tesla Model Y Mattress? My Review of the Aerogogo Inflatable Tesla Bed

With so many options on the market, choosing the best Tesla Model Y mattress can feel overwhelming. For road trippers and car campers like me, comfort is key—but I’ve also come to really value mattresses that are easy to pack and don’t take up much space.

I recently tested the Aerogogo Tesla Model Y inflatable mattress on my EV road trip to Yellowknife, and here’s my take on whether it might just be the best mattress for your Tesla.

With a trip up the Dempster Highway coming soon, space and ease of use are more critical than ever, so I was especially keen to see how this mattress would stack up to my usual TesMat memory foam setup.

What’s Included with the Aerogogo Tesla Bed?

When I arrived at Ladysmith Falls around 7PM, the sun still high thanks to the midnight sun, I was eager to get out of the mosquito swarm and set up camp.

The Aerogogo mattress comes in a compact carrying case—a huge plus compared to the bulky TesMat, which eats up about 3/4 of the Model Y sub-trunk. Inside the pack was the mattress itself, a repair patch kit, a cigarette lighter/USB AC adapter, and a USB cable.

Right off the bat, I was impressed with how small and light the package was. At only 2.1kg (4.63lb), it’s ideal for road trippers who need to pack smart—especially with a remote journey like my upcoming Dempster Highway road trip on the horizon.

Setting Up the Tesla Model Y Bed

Setup was mostly straightforward, but there are a few things worth noting. First, you’ll want to slide your front seats all the way forward.

The mattress covers the full rear cabin, which gives you maximum sleeping space but does limit access to side storage wells in the back as well as behind the front seats. I had to relocate a few items to the front seats and frunk.

The air pump is cleverly integrated into the bottom corner of the mattress, near the rear AC outlet.

You just uncap the intake valve, pop the pressure release open, plug it in, and hit the power button. Within about 120 seconds—true to their promise—the Tesla bed was fully inflated.

One minor issue: I didn’t have a fitted sheet that worked. The TesMat sheet I tried to stretch over it didn’t fit.

I ended up tucking a standard sheet tightly around the edges, which worked okay. I plan to try a king-size fitted sheet next time and will follow up with Aerogogo on their recommendation.

All of this took less than 10 minutes which, allowed me to spend plenty of time enjoying the waterfall.

Comfort Level: Better Than Expected for an Inflatable

Let’s talk about what matters most—comfort. I’ll be honest, I’m not usually a fan of air mattresses. I love my TesMat specifically because it’s memory foam and incredibly supportive. That said, the Aerogogo Tesla inflatable bed surprised me.

It was firm enough to support me without sagging overnight. The brushed polyester surface is soft and doesn’t make annoying squeaky sounds when you move.

I forgot my pillow but didn’t suffer much thanks to the mattress’s built-in raised headrest section. Despite a bit of back stiffness the next morning, I woke up feeling well-rested. The mattress also held air all night without the need to top up.

Still, comfort would likely improve with a proper fitted sheet and maybe a thin blanket or foam topper for extra cushion—especially on colder nights.

Taking the Aerogogo down was just as easy. Open the outflow valve, flip the switch, and the motor handles the deflation in about 90 seconds.

While I did notice a bit of residual air, pressing down and rolling it while it deflated helped. I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn’t fully compress it, but it still fit back into its bag nicely.

In terms of storage, this Tesla Model Y inflatable bed is a win. It folds up to roughly one-quarter the size of my TesMat setup, freeing up essential trunk space for other gear.

This makes it a perfect option for weekend getaways or shorter trips like car camping along the Columbia Ice Field Parkway.

Is the Aerogogo the Best Tesla Model Y Bed?

I’m still a bit on the fence. While the Aerogogo mattress is compact, easy to set up, and comfortable enough, it may not be the best solution for longer overland-style trips.

For my upcoming Dempster Highway adventure, I’ll likely go back to the TesMat, keeping it laid out under a tarp so I can throw gear on top without worry. I’m not sure that would be wise with an inflatable mattress.

But for short trips or times when I need trunk space, the Aerogogo is an excellent, space-saving option. If you value flexibility and a light travel setup, this might be the best Tesla Model Y bed for your needs.
