If you’ve been looking for a way to add Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to your Tesla — while also gaining a more functional Tesla dash display — the new S3XY Dash from Enhance Auto might just be what you’ve been waiting for.
As someone who’s installed nearly every mod you can think of on my Model Y (see my growing list of Tesla accessories here), I was excited to get my hands on Enhance Auto’s latest innovation. After falling in love with their LED S3XY Strip, I knew the bar was already set high. Spoiler alert: the S3XY Dash lives up to the hype — and then some.
In this post, I’ll walk you through my experience installing and using the S3XY Dash, what makes it different from other Tesla HUD and Tesla dash displays, why it would’ve been a game-changer on my Arctic Ocean EV road trip, and how you can get it now at a discount using my promo code.
What Is the S3XY Dash?
The S3XY Dash is a fully integrated, customizable Tesla dash display designed specifically for Model 3 and Model Y — and yes, it fits both the legacy and the new Highland/Juniper variants.

But this isn’t just another digital gauge cluster. It’s a smart, sleek secondary display that offers something Tesla still hasn’t delivered: full Apple CarPlay and Tesla Android Auto support.
Here’s what you get with the S3XY Dash:

- Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Real-time driving data and trip monitoring
- Customizable speedometer and layouts
- Control of 50+ Tesla features (like Regen Level, Battery Pre-heating)
- OTA updates (over-the-air, just like your Tesla)
- Clean, integrated mount that looks OEM
If you already have Enhance Auto’s Gen2 Commander, you can even order the dash display as a standalone unit here.
My S3XY Dash Installation Experience
Right out of the box, the S3XY Dash screams premium. The build quality is solid, and the matte finish matches the Tesla interior well — no cheap plastic vibes here.

Installation was surprisingly straightforward. Enhance Auto includes detailed instructions, and the wiring is plug-and-play if you’ve already installed the Commander.
Even if you haven’t done an install like this before, it’s completely manageable with a bit of patience and the right tools.
The S3XY Dash comes with everything you need—including the mount, wiring harness, Commander unit, and display—and it took me just under an hour to get everything installed, tested, and tucked away.
I’ll add photos and put together a full install video soon, but for now, if you’ve done anything like add the S3XY Buttons or the S3XY Knob, you’ll be more than comfortable adding the Dash.
Using the S3XY Dash Day-to-Day
Once installed, the display boots up with your car and immediately starts feeding you all the data you’d expect from a traditional instrument cluster — and a lot more.
Speed, state of charge, power usage, regen strength, battery preheat status — it’s all there. You can switch between several layouts, making it feel as minimalist or as geeked-out as you like.

But where it gets really cool is CarPlay. Yes, real Tesla Apple CarPlay running right in front of your steering wheel. Maps, music, Siri — the full experience. Android users, don’t worry, Tesla Android Auto is supported too.
Having that smartphone integration is something I didn’t realize I missed until I had it. Tesla’s native system is great, but if you rely on certain apps like Waze or Spotify Podcasts (not the built-in one), this adds a huge layer of flexibility.
How It Would’ve Helped on My Arctic Ocean EV Trip
Back when I was tackling the Dempster Highway to the Arctic Ocean in my Model Y (see that full story here and here), having this kind of real-time data and offline mapping through CarPlay would’ve been a massive help.

Being able to monitor battery regen, quickly check energy consumption, and control preconditioning while in cool temps — all from a dedicated display — would’ve taken a lot of guesswork out of those long stretches between chargers. Next time I head that far north, the S3XY Dash is coming with me.
Tesla Dash Display That Tesla Should’ve Been Built In
This unit adds everything Tesla should’ve given us from the start. While I’ve come to love the Model Y’s central screen setup, having a dedicated Tesla dash display with turn-by-turn directions, energy data, and even custom UI options is next-level.
Having it in front and at eye level also makes it a safer option than glancing to the right at the center screen. Don’t just take my word for it—your Tesla’s FSD nag will be the first to agree.
It also fits seamlessly into a bigger ecosystem of useful Tesla upgrades—whether you’re protecting your screen, turning the back into a campsite, or running wireless internet on the road. Even alongside those, this remains one of the most functional and enjoyable additions I’ve made to the car.
Final Thoughts: S3XY Dash Review Verdict
As with everything I’ve tried from Enhance Auto, the S3XY Dash feels well thought out and built to last. The install is smooth, the display is clean and responsive, and the added features are genuinely useful — not just flashy gimmicks.

Whether you’re a tech-head looking for Tesla CarPlay, a road tripper who wants better control, or just someone who misses having a dedicated speedometer, the S3XY Dash hits the mark.
I’ll be digging deeper into its features and customizations over the next few weeks — including putting together video content once I can fully explore the 50+ feature controls and OTA tweaks.
