I review a lot of Tesla accessories on this site, some good, some great. Very few, however, blow me away. That is, until I met the Tesla S3XY Knob. Something so simple yet elegant and seamless with its design and installation that you would think it is OEM.
In this S3XY Knob review, we will get into what it is, what it does, how to install it, and why it is now one of my favorite Tesla add-ons.
What is a Tesla S3XY Knob?
Brought to you by Enhance Auto, the makers of the S3XY buttons, the Tesla S3XY Knob is an accessory that helps unlock your Tesla while also making it easier to drive and enjoy.
In short, it is a rotary dial that cleverly integrates into the center console of Tesla Model Y or Model 3 vehicles and gives drivers quick access to a variety of functions with the click of a button and or a turn of a knob.
With the included commander module and Enhance Auto app, this Tesla sexy knob also opens up the ability to add quick functions to your door handles and can provide deep dive stats on your car.
What’s Included with this Tesla Sexy Knob?
The Tesla S3XY Knob comes with everything you need to install and then some. In the box you get the knob, commander unit, harness cables for connecting to the car, a pry bar for removing panels, and spacer stickers for a better fit.

Tesla S3XY Knob Install
Installing with Tesla S3XY Knob is very easy. It took me less than 10 minutes from Installing the commander to setting up the buttons and dial.
Step 1: Install the Commander
Installing both the S3XY Knob commander unit and the knob is very much plug-and-play. To install the commander, power off your Tesla through the settings on the car’s screen.
Next, use the included pry bar to remove the panel cover on the backside of the center console below the vents.
With the panel off, unclip the blue clip and connect the command unit inline. Close up the panel with the pigtail cable sticking out. Last, connect the commander to the pigtail cable and tuck out of the site.
Step 2: Install the knob
The S3XY Knob is powered by USB C. It has two ports on the bottom, one labeled to connect to the car and the other as a pass-through for connecting devices. Before installing the device, connect the included USB cable to ensure the unit powers up. If so, line it up in the console tray and pull it into place. It’s that simple.
Step 3: Configure the Knob
With Knob in place, open up the Enhance Auto App. It will connect to both the commander and knob and push updates if required.
Once updates are done you can go through the app and customize the buttons and knobs to your preference.
My Tesla S3XY Knob Review
For my Tesla S3XY Knob review, I had to remove the old commander that I had installed for my S3XY Buttons and installed a new one. On the positive, the commander included with this Tesla Sexy Knob is much smaller and, therefore, easier to conceal, which is a nice improvement. It also can control both the knob and buttons. This means I can continue using the buttons I have enjoyed.
After closing up the back center console, I moved on to getting the knob in place. Since I have a Hills Wood cover installed on my center console, I used the included stickers to raise the knob to bring in better line and make it more flush with the surface. Although not perfect, I appreciate the inclusion of these spacer stickers.
After powering on the device and updating the module and knob, I was good to go.
I spent several minutes scrolling through the various options and playing around with the best layout for my use. I like that the include an option to set the colour around the knob. This will blend well with Highland owners with the included ambient lighting.
For my knob setup, I ended up configuring the three pages by function and use.
First, I have a day-to-day page with folding the mirrors (something I use everytime I park at home), heated seats, and climate control.
The next page opens up things like the frunk, trunk, glove box, and passenger door.
The last page is dedicated to road trip use which includes autopilot and battery pre-conditioning.
Tesla Sexy Knob – Lives up to Its Name
As I scrolled through and tried out each function, I was blown away at how seamless and, frankly, sexy the whole experience was.
Enhance does an incredible job with its display and user experience. There is next to no lag using the knob and buttons, and the graphics are very pleasing. In particular, turning on the heated seats and adjusting the knob turns the ring around it red, and the graphics display the heat levels. This is very a clever.
Another highlight includes the ability to precondition the battery, something that will come in very handy when navigating to non-Tesla level L3 chargers on my next road trip to the Yukon.
Thoughts on this S3XY Knob Tesla Add On?
Driving around town, I have found the experience is just better using the knob, and I look forward to trying out the “page three” settings on my next road trip. That said, this won’t be for everyone. In my opinon, it is a must for anyone wishing the minimalist approach of Tesla had just a few more clicks to it.
If you want to try it out for yourself, pre-orders are open. The S3XY Knob is $329.69 USD and readers of this site can get 10% off with promo code MYEVTRIPS.
